What is Love Through Crisis?
My Life Counsel (MLC) answers God's call to serve our community’s forgotten, broken, widows, orphans, abandoned, and those in crisis. Through our Love Through Crisis (LTC) fund, families in crisis, who were previously financially unable are now able to receive immediate free professional biblically-based family counseling, education. training and family group therapy.

Love Through Crisis is a family program for foster, kinship, adoption, and in crisis families within our community. This program is developed by My Life Counsel (MLC) to prevent and stabilize mental/behavioral related issues as it relates to foster, adoption, kinship families as well as at-risk children and teens. Counselors use the tools from proven researched method strategies such as Trust-Based Relational Interventions (TBRI) and the Arno Profile System/Temperament to create customized, effective parenting/guardianship plans for each family.

Research proves that a program similar to LTCS strengthens the overall health and well-being within the family dynamics of families in crisis. Using this strategy will strengthen the marriage and sibling relationship that is strained by traumatized children.

Financial burdens and timely scheduling are the two most common barriers that prevent crisis counseling. LTC eliminates both of these obstacles. Our program allows a referred crisis family to be in front of an experienced counselor no later than 48-hours (sooner than 12-hours in most cases).
*LTC is a fund created by My Life Counsel, a 501c(3) non-profit organization. Therefore, all donations are tax-deductible.

Resource Family Counseling Foundation
We believe that each child is a true blessing! As children grow, family dynamics shift causing unique circumstances and challenges. Our experienced counselors come alongside all families in their time of need. Through individual family counseling, families will be provided assessments that explain their individual needs for strategic parenting. Parents will be equipped with their child's specific need for love and affection, communication, motivation, decision making, and much more. The primary goal is to equip parents with positive parenting strategies and is designed to support families in crisis.

Family Therapy and Interventions
Temperament Therapy is derived from the “Theory of Temperament” which states that God places within every person the emotional characteristics necessary to accomplish His plan and purpose for their life. Research indicates that Temperament Therapy is more than ninety percent (90%) successful when administered by a “Certified Temperament Counselor,” trained in this technique. Temperament allows for specific strategies and coping skills for each individual in your family. read more
Trust-Based Relationship Intervention (TBRI) is an evidence-based, trauma-informed intervention. This attachment-rich intervention is designed to meet the unique needs of children who have experienced trauma. Connection is the heart of TBRI. When children feel safe and know they have a voice, their survival behaviors: including lying, stealing, and anger outbursts, are diminished. When TBRI is applied, caregivers spend less time stressfully putting out fires and more time joyfully engaging their children. As a result, these children who desperately needed a sense of self-worth, begin to discover their value. While TBRI was designed for vulnerable children, parents often find this to be the best parenting philosophy for all children. Based on years of research by Dr. Karyn Purvis, Dr. David Cross, and their colleagues at Texas Christian University.
