Alyssa has a Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Psychology and a minor in Religion from Southeastern University. She attended the Meadowbrook Church extension site, where she interned in the church's Youth Ministry.
Alyssa worked as a Behavior Technician at Behavior Analysis Support Services and has been trained in Applied Behavior Analysis. She worked with clients with Autism and Down Syndrome with ages ranging from 2 years old to 17 years old. She provided ABA therapy in the clinic, home, and school settings. As a Behavior Specialist, she then worked at Episcopal Children's Services Head Start and Early Head Start programs in over 14 centers between Marion County and Lake County. As the Behavior Specialist, she worked with children with Autism dx and children who were hurting themselves or others multiple times during the school day. She created behavior plans, data sheets, reinforcers, and taught teachers and parents how to manage behaviors with a background in ABA, Conscious Discipline, Trauma Informed Care, and Motivational Interviewing. Alyssa has also worked as a Family Care Manager/Dependency Case Manager at Kids Central Inc. As a Case Manager, she worked with children and their families following DCF's removal of the child/children from the home. She worked to help reunify families when possible and went to court on behalf of her primary cases. She worked with offending parents, non-offending parents, relative and non-relative caregivers, group homes, and foster homes. Alyssa has had training in Child Sexual Abuse and Human Trafficking.
Alyssa desires to help bring others through trauma and closer to God. Through utilizing her background in Applied Behavior Analysis, Trauma Informed Care, Motiviational Interviewing, and with God's guidance, Alyssa helps her clients find that there is victory in Christ no matter what happens to us.
